A Moment
So it looks up at him, helplessly, this little dirty puppy in the gutter, and he feels for it--he really does, and he wants to pet
it and hold it and feed it some biscuits, but that's not right and that's not what he as a person in this jacket is supposed to
do, not when he's tough and is all punk to the core, not then, and he's got to prove it, got to settle himself into it, so he
looks at the puppy and tries to talk through his eyes, tries to say that he's sorry and that he loves the dog, and so after the
understanding he does what he must, 'cause they're watching and they're skeptical and they've got to know, so he kicks the
puppy and he does it hard, 'cause that's who he is and that's what life does and who gives a fuck anyway, and the dog
whimpers and he laughs and he and the group walk on as one, but he is sad inside and he doesn't like that.
